100 Quotes and MORE!
SEE this wonderful image of the Little Christmas Dragon by TTiger? Our team is feeling like it’s Christmas and that we should celebrate!
Why the joy? It’s because today we hit our 100th quote, which shows our hard work in keeping NewsFlashMedia (NFM) going every day has been a success.
We won’t lie that we missed seven days from the supposedly 107 days of quotes, counted from Jan 1 when we started right up until today. But 100 out of that total aren’t bad. And so our team deserves a pat on the back.
Since we started on Jan 1 this year we have worked hand-in-hand with the team that included friends who write for NFM for the fun of it, friends we know from work who are always extending us invitations and others who are interested in what NFM is all about.
The contributions from interested writers have since dwindled due to everyone’s commitment to the demand of their full-time jobs. But we believe NFM is on solid ground now after four months and can churn up enough interesting material for our readers’ pleasure as well as ours.
Still, we welcome anyone to drop us their stories anytime they want to because we love sharing, even if it is a just a 200-word piece. Feel free to contact us at newsflashmedia@ymail.com.
Since we’ve caught your attention about our little success we take the opportunity to express our biggest and warmest thanks to all the photographers and artists who have allowed free use of their works in our many posts, starting from the quotes right up to our posts carrying different labels.
These websites have become our favourite sites as well and we hope to never forget to give the deserving credits to these people whose works we have used in the past and will continue to use in future posts. Without them our search for that appropriate photo or clipart to use as illustrations in our stories will be a huge feat!
And to all our friends and newfound friends and silent readers, NFM thank you and welcome you to become a part of the NFM family.
Keep that chin up!

F.O.S. Sale @ Ikano
 |
| Nike's casual wear fitness bottoms. |
F.O.S. is having a major sale at the foyer of the IKANO Power centre in Mutiara Damansara PJ
I was there yesterday and I have to admit it’s not a bad sale after all. There are lots of fitness stuff up for grabs as well as skimpy cotton wear that you ladies might want to chill in while at home or take to bed.

Most of the customers there were women out for the day’s shopping. Some even took the liberty of trying out the trousers they plan to buy right smack in the open where the busy shoppers were. Well, to each its own.
 |
| Simple cotton Ts that normally cost about RM30+ a piece |
If you know anyone who needs some good quality track tops maybe they can check out the Kappa selection put up for sale as well.
I took home two pieces of simple cotton T for casual wear, three exercise tops from Nike and a black Nike slim fit track bottoms all for only RM100. So that’s 50% off from the original price.

| If you can sieve through the pile of clothes you might find some good Nike fitness top. |
Bear in mind that during crazy sales like this, the rule is goods sold are not refundable or exchangeable so save your breath if when you do your fitting at home you find that you need something either one size smaller or bigger. Too bad.
F.O.S.Sale ends tomorrow so you still have time if you’re reading this.

Justice For Sisters
Good day for today :)
The Team will be out all afternoon and in the early part of the evening. We will be at the Justice For Sisters event held at MAPKL in Solaris Dutamas.
As many of you must have already known, this is a campaign to help our Mak Nyah sisters who do not enjoy the same privileges simply because some parties regard them as outcasts.
The event, which will see many interesting Indie acts and performances kicks off at 2pm before it breaks for an hour at 4pm. More interesting performances continue at 5pm and if you have the time to spare just hang out in the area till 10pm when the event ends.
Hoping to see a lot of support there!

Make Our Day
NewsFlashMedia are animal lovers and we do not support the insanity projected by animal abusers. Our illustration accompanying The Daily Bitch today speaks the hate we feel for these abusers. If investigations proved the culprit is guilty of the crime than the law needs to be enforced as well as reviewed so that would-be offenders would think twice before they can even commit such acts ever again.
To the Bitch, hope you like our illustration.

Sing Write Vote
This is a big year for Avon Malaysia with many surprises already planned for its massive supporters out there.
To kick-start 2011, Avon will conduct the Malaysian audition for the brand’s international singing contest Avon Voices this Sunday, Jan 16.
The audition however is only open to women 18 years old and above. But you may have to fight hard to get a spot because only the first 300 registrations will be accepted.
You will be required to do a 30-second a cappella number by choosing your song from the list provided by Avon. Only 50 finalists will be selected on the day from the 300 participants.
If you are among the 50 finalists you will not only receive RM200 worth of Avon products but also be given the privilege of uploading your performance on the day for submission to Avon Voices global search.
Our local talents will, during the audition, be judged by Malaysia’s very own singer/actress Marsha Londoh, Alya AF, Soo Wincci and professional dance choreographer Linda Jasmine.Avon Voices is a global singing competition designed by the leading global beauty company as a celebration of its 125th Anniversary. Together with this talent search is the Songwriting Competition for women as well as men.
If you are among the first batch of contenders from Malaysia to secure a spot then you will be flown with the rest to Hong Kong to record the performance videos in late March this year. These videos will be used for voting of Round 1 and 2.
If this sounds exciting then read on and see what else you stand to enjoy as the Malaysian finalists and overall winner.
As a semi-finalist you will be flown to Hollywood for a professional vocal coaching, Avon makeovers as well as the recording of the performance videos in mid July.
Finally, on Sept 8, 10 finalists will be announced on AvonVoices.com, determined by public voting as well as Avon Voices Judges. The reward comprises a one-on-one vocal coaching, styling sessions, Avon makeovers, rehearsals and in-studio recordings in the USA where you will be flown to!
The climax is on Nov 2 where the 10 finalists will perform live at the Avon Foundation for Women Gala in New York City. Avon Voices celebrities will join the finalists on stage to sing and record the Avon Voices Anthem, an original song written by Diane Warren.
So if all this sounds great what more are you waiting for? Registration is free of charge. You can call Avon Malaysia Hotline at 1800-22-AVON (2866) or go to its website www.my.avon.com or come personally to Level 2 of KL Sentral this Sunday (Jan 16) between 10an and 5pm. Last registration is at 2pm.
I’m already imagining how jam-packed the audition venue KL Sentral will be this Sunday!

Burning daylight again
It's half past 1 on Wednesday morning and I'm freaking sleepy. My lower back is aching from sitting too long in front of the computer but happiness is in the air :)
Today (if I can drag myself out of bed) NewsFlashMedia will see its first article from a contributor. We will be announcing again once the post is up. Let's keep it a surprise for now.
If you noticed, there is an addition to the links on the top menu (navigation bar) of our website. Something's brewing in our "press" room and we think the bitch is back!
The Daily Bitch will be a regular column in NewsFlashMedia, another work from one of our writer friends. Look out for his hilarious take on life and join in the laughter or share his frustrations.
My lovely bed is calling. Please don't phone, don't sms, don't even think of looking for me until it's time for lunch. This Sunshine needs some sleep :)
