Jimmy Choo SS2012 Collection

SEVENTIES cinematic icons continue to inspire the Jimmy Choo Spring Summer 2012 Collection. Think Anouk Aimée from the film Justine with her sultry glamour and insouciant style. The direction is decidedly sporty, loose and eclectic with tribal and artisanal touches. Her evenings are glittering with disco finishes of mirror leather, lucite and crystals.

Sportswear influences manifest in JUSTINE, a new handbag with slouch appeal in unstructured calf. Variations of the luscious leather bag reveal an unzipped front pocket exposing a hidden flash of textured python in bright yellow, coral and jade. This relaxed utilitarian shape continues in softly unstructured clutches luxuriously accented with python.

The sportif journey continues with TAILOR, a perforated mesh lace-up atop a cork wedge with sneaker-style stripe. Volume and colour are dramatically expressed with wedge LEORA covered in suede, and LETITIA a double-buckle coloured opanca platform sandal on a 145 mm heel. Casual days strolling are spent in cork wedge sandals or Venetian slippers, this season’s chic flat.
The tribal and ethnic are woven in literally and decoratively into the collection. Animal print and exotics, a Jimmy Choo signature, extend through in leopard print, crocodile, python and elaphe. Cording, braiding, patchwork and tassels bring to light an artisanal hand. Hand-woven in leather macrame, the IRIS sandal is embellished with multi-coloured resin ornaments, an ode to the magpie style of fashion innovator and doyenne of ethnic embellishment, Iris Apfel.
The Jimmy Choo muse always has glittering evenings planned, and this season’s collection references 70s disco with strappy sandal THUNDER in cobalt, violet and Klein blue crocodile. Lucite wedge INGA sandals evoking graphic mod design are poised for the dance floor, accompanied by Lucite box clutch CADENCE, attached by chain link wrist-cuff.

BARSONIC
Saturday, March 10
LAPSAP & Co ft an International Guest DJ

Stay tuned to www.zoukclub.com.my for updates!
The two boys, 5ft & Mr Puah, bring you regional and upcoming international DJs who share the same screwed up mentality as theirs.

Formed in 2007, LapSap has quickly gone from cult to scene, with his own style, fashion and sound. Taking the trash aesthetic that has spurred micro-club culture worldwide the pair wanted a name that, according to 5ft “looked good and reflected us and our culture as well’. So they called it LapSap, meaning ‘rubbish’ in Cantonese, cutting their ties with the old Nu-Rave tagged night, and laying the foundations for the anything goes filthy electro that has become its trademark sound.

CAFÉ GOURMAND

A café gourmand is the heavenly alliance of coffee and sweets - a cup of coffee surrounded by little sweet teasers. It’s great for the indecisive – no need to make a choice! Its pleasing mix of colours, shapes and sizes make it a feast for the eyes. The idea is genius and thoroughly Parisian. Inside Looking Out - Part II

M. Ismail is one of NewsFlashMedia’s team members. Since late October 2011 she has been living in London and France. In this post she features images captured while on one of her bus journeys using her handphone - Sun, March 3: 2:15am

I’M beginning to think I have no other life in England but go to Central London. The train stations here seem to close on almost every weekend. And every time this happens I’d get one of those automated e-mail announcements informing users to check their traveling schedules and routes. Most times the weekend closure is due to maintenance. At other times it’s because of some protests.

This weekend is the same. There’s no service on the routes I travel. And this week is worse than the last.  Most of the routes going out and coming back to where I stay are close. So yesterday, to get to Central London I took Bus 82. The bus ride took slightly more than half an hour but I enjoy bus rides. I get to see more things.

I left the house at about 10am and for the first time, sat on the upper deck of the bus. There’s a reason for this; photography through the glass windows. The morning started grey and by the time I got on the bus it started drizzling. But it doesn’t matter. It’s fun to see how the photos turned out behind stained glass pelted by rain.
A view from inside the bus on London's red bus on the top deck.

Someone's bad attempt at stealing a shot of me.

A lorry laden with road repair stuffs?
Another red bus heading the opposite direction to mine.
The bus driver taking a roundabout in small town along the way.
Dust and dirt - digging up the earth.
I LOVE this although blurry.
The drizzle seems a big help to some.
